Re-opening Kings Quarry
Kings Quarry, located nearby Wainui/Silverdale on 186 Pebble Brook Road north of Auckland, was purchased by the Semenoff Group in 2019. After being inactive for the last 30 years, work is currently ongoing to re-establishment the quarry with an anticipated re-opening date in the second half of 2023.

Historical Timeline
Kings Quarry has a proud history that began in the 1920s on land originally settled by the grandfather of the Kings family back in 1860.
Joseph Samuel King, son of Samuel and Mary, initiated the first quarry. With support from his three sons – Samuel, Bill, and Hector – he started a bush clearing, bridge construction and roadbuilding business which enabled them to supply road metal from King's first Quarry at the intersection of Pebblebrook and Waitoki Creek.
